For the most comprehensive test facility solutions.... WEBBER EMI announced today that it had been awarded two contracts for new evaporative emission test systems by the State of California. In both cases, these new test systems will be installed into the Air Resources Board Haagen-Smit emission laboratory located in El Monte, California. Under the terms of the first contract, WEBBER EMI will install its new computer data acquisition & control system along with new Horiba analytical benches into two existing Webber SHEDs (Sealed Housing for Evaporative Determinants) originally installed into the CARB laboratory in the mid-1990s. Under the terms of the second contract, WEBBER EMI will provide the CARB with a complete new 'turn key' SHED test system intended for next generation vehicle testing. Completion of both projects is anticipated in an early 2003 timeframe. Ken Parker, President of WEBBER EMI, confirmed receipt of these awards, stating that "These contracts with the State of California acknowledge WEBBER EMI's accomplishments and stature as a leader in the design and manufacture of emissions testing systems for the global transportation industry. Given that the California Air Resources Board has always sought to lead the world through 'technology forcing' emission regulations based upon their own testing, our staff is particularly proud that WEBBER EMI will continue as the sole source provider of diurnal testing systems for CARB testing laboratories." |
