HISTORY |
Webber Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc. was founded in 1975 by Jack Webber. Under Jack's direction, the company quickly grew, establishing itself as an industry leader in design and the development of specialized mobile source emission test equipment and prototype machinery.
Over the next twenty-three years, the Webber product line has expanded to include:
- SHEDs (Sealed Housing for Evaporative Determination) with optional capability for Variable-Volume, Variable-Temperature, Running Loss and ORVR testing;
- Fuel drain, fuel conditioning and fuel stream carts capable of maintaining and dispensing up to 60 gallons of test fuel at an operator-determined temperature;
- Instrument-quality refrigerated baths and sample chillers capable of managing up to 6 different sample flow paths;
- Emission test cell support hardware including driver's aid stands, vehicle tie-down systems, proportional speed fans, torque wheels and transducers, sample conditioning modules, sample dilution tunnels and diesel particulate tunnels;
- All electric two wheel drive chassis dynamometers, four wheel drive dynamometers, and motorcycle dynamometers;
- High performance air speed fans.
In addition to the above, the company also gained an international reputation as a manufacturer of the prototype machinery and 'one of a kind' test equipment for the transportation, aerospace, defense and medical industries.
In mid-1998, after leading the industry with his vision for more than twenty-four years, Jack Webber suddenly found himself facing serious illness and a health-mandated retirement. Accordingly, shortly thereafter, based on a long personal friendship and mutual respect, Jack began a dialogue with Ken Parker to take over his business. As a result, in 1999, Ken formed Emission Methods, Inc. (EMI) to acquire the working assets and key personnel of Webber Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc.
Under Ken's direction, Webber EMI was born. This company -- like its namesake - continues to be dedicated to manufacturing superior-quality, superbly-engineered testing systems and products. In addition, two other basic precepts were also introduced into the company charter…unsurpassable customer service and absolute commitment to on-time, on-price delivery of all products and services.
Today Webber EMI is a revitalized, refocused company with a proud, twenty-six year history of accomplishment....a history of "Leading the Industry since 1975."
